Much hyped title No Man’s Sky released earlier this month. The space exploration title from Hello Games had a dedicated fanbase even before it released. The open Universe with over 18 quintillion planets, many with their own sets of flora and fauna, is a treat to explore. Many fans want to experience the world of No Man’s Sky with a virtual reality headset. As the release of the PS VR closes in, several fans want the title to support PlayStation VR.
No Man’s Land for PlayStation VR
A couple of months back, studio head Sean Murray told GameSpot that Hello Games saw No Man’s Sky as the “perfect fit” for the upcoming PlayStation VR. When quizzed on the prospects of seeing the game in PS VR some day, Murray replied: “I think that No Man’s Sky, which is this infinite computer generated universe, and PlayStation VR, which is a headset that you put on and enter a VR space is like, it’s like you’ve asked me when I was five what the future would look like.”
Despite being very enthusiastic about VR version of No Man’s Sky, Murray stopped just short of announcing the game for Sony’s headset. “That’s as far as I can comment,” he said.
To recall, Murray stated somewhat similar sentiments back in July 2015, when he said: “It’s something we’re thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus… There’s nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let’s put it that way.”
Personally, I think No Man’s Sky should absolutely be Sony ’s flagship game for PlayStation VR. The title is about space exploration, a concept already pioneered by VR versions of EVE and Elite Dangerous. You shouldn’t be surprised if you heard Sony working with Hello Games to trying to make this happen in near future.
